Why Hand-Over Lessons Are Critical
Board & Train builds momentum—but lasting success depends on owner follow-through.
Dogs do not automatically transfer training from the trainer to the home environment. Without proper guidance, many dogs can gradually slip back into old habits because communication, timing, and expectations unintentionally change after returning home.
That’s why private hand-over lessons are strongly recommended after your dog’s stay.
One private hand-over lesson is included with your Board & Train stay to review what your dog has accomplished, demonstrate new skills, and begin teaching you how to properly maintain the training at home.
Additional hand-over lessons are highly recommended to help transfer the training from trainer to owner, teaching the leadership, communication, timing, and handling skills needed to maintain your dog’s progress and protect your investment.
Hand-Over Lessons Help:
- Prevent regression into old behaviors
- Teach owners how to properly maintain training results
- Improve communication and consistency at home
- Build confidence for both dog and owner
- Transition skills into real-world environments
Additional hand-over lessons are $150 each, or $120 each when purchased as part of a training program, helping create a smoother transition into long-term success.
The difference between short-term improvement and lasting transformation often comes down to owner education and follow-through after your investment.

"I adopted my beautiful Sparrow 6 months ago. She was very leash-aggressive and reactive to other dogs. Thanks to Belynda’s guidance, she has made an incredible transformation. I now have a calm, balanced dog I can enjoy in public."

Client
"Belynda is amazing! My husband and I have attended multiple obedience classes in the past and this has been BY FAR the most beneficial. The different techniques she uses have been a game changer!"
